Dr. Wael Qubti, who arrived in Lubbock in 2008, earned his medical degree in Greece. After doing several internships at hospitals in Greece and Jordan, he completed his General Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery residencies at K.A.T. Trauma Hospital in Athens, Greece.
Dr. Qubti practiced Orthopedic Surgery for ten years in Jordan. He volunteered in “Free Medical Care” days at remote villages to provide care to people with special disabilities.
Dr. Qubti arrived in the United States in 2005 when he moved to Wichita Falls to start a Family Practice Residency Program, during which he served as Chief Resident. He is board certified in Family Medicine, and has also completed a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Texas Tech University Health Science Center in 2008. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Qubti also has experience working at emergency rooms in Texas, Oklahoma and overseas.
When it comes to his patients, Dr. Qubti says he strives to give the best care “avoiding any risks or harm during our treatment, giving the patients the opportunity to express their complaints and going over all their medical conditions in a comprehensive way.” He works to establish a good relationship with his patients so they feel comfortable about their medical conditions and treatment options.
Dr. Qubti says his education and training didn’t end when he became a doctor. “I consider myself a life-long student and learning is a continuous process. It is very important to keep up with any innovations because medical progress is really quick and if we do not catch up, we will be way behind, so this is a very important part of our practice to keep up with new advances and new innovations.”
In addition to the Primary Care Center, Dr. Qubti is also available through the Walk-In Clinic. “Grace offers unique care to our patients, having everything in one setting, providing the labs, the x-rays, certain procedures like joint injections and especially, through the walk-in clinic we provide excellent urgent care management.” Dr. Qubti says many of the patients he treats in the ER can easily be treated at the Walk-In Clinic, saving the patient time and money.
Married to Hana Qubti, they have two children, daughter Yara, and son, Ziad.
