Biography
Tom was born and raised in Coral Gables, Florida. He went to Purdue University for his undergraduate degree, initially majoring in Architecture before changing to Premedical studies. He returned home to attend medical school at the University of Miami. During this time, he met and married the love of his life, Petie and they had their first son.
Having joined the United States Navy during medical school, he went to Chelsea Naval Hospital near Boston for his internship. He then did two and one-half years of general surgery residency at Portsmouth Naval Hospital before transferring to Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego to complete his residency in Urology. He remained on staff as an attending physician at Balboa for a time before leaving the Navy with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He went into private practice at Scripps Medical Center in La Jolla, California.
After nineteen years in San Diego, he moved to Roswell, New Mexico and was in practice there for nineteen years before moving to Lubbock to join Kirk, Nicholson, and Reynolds Urology, LLP. He greatly enjoys fly fishing, reading, golfing, and gardening with his wife.
