Covenant Children’s Hospital is proud to welcome Dr. Amy Henning, Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon. Her strong education and training, military service to our country, and practice experience supports our commitment to service. Her focus on quality outcomes and desire to get kids back to doing the things they love exemplifies our values of excellence and dignity. Dr. Henning received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. Her fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery was completed at The Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Henning served 12 years in the United States Navy. Her military assignments included the aircraft carrier USS George Washington, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth Virginia, Walter Reed National Medical Center and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Two of her many honors and awards include the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal. She has most recently been in practice at OrthoVirginia, Inc. in Fairfax, Virginia. Dr. Henning is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery.
