I decided to become a physician while in high school as I had a family doctor that I trusted as I grew up.
Being a physician in Family Medicine allows me to see all ages and all medical diagnoses.
A Family Medicine physician can manage 85-90% of medical problems and those I cannot manage I will direct my patient to the appropriate specialist physician.
I am part of my patients’ medical team and feel my role is to assist my patients as they make decisions about their medical diagnoses including testing and treatment. A patient’s care team includes the patient, the family, and the medical caregivers. The physician is the leader of the medical caregivers.
I not only enjoy providing medical care to my patients but to also to know them as a person.
